The test of any moisturizer is winter and now that the spring thaw seems to finally be upon us, I figured it was time to share my thoughts on Body Hero Daily Perfecting Cream from Glossier.
It’s no secret I love Glossier. They can’t take my money fast enough when a new product launches. So naturally, I wanted to love this body cream with my entire millennial pink heart. Sadly, it wasn’t to be, but it wasn’t all bad.
First of all, the size of the product was great for the price. Not cheap like a drugstore body lotion of course, but it lasted me a solid five months.
The second thing I enjoyed about Body Hero Daily Daily Perfecting Cream was the scent. Give me all the neroli you’ve got. It’s hands down my favorite scent for beauty products because I hate smelling like baked goods and I like the ability to add a perfume if I want without smelling like a Bath & Body Works experiment. The scent of this body cream is very light and fresh.
Lastly, I really liked the subtle radiance it gave my skin. It wasn’t incredibly noticeable, not a really strong shimmer, but just enough to make your skin look hydrated and healthy.
OK, that’s good stuff.
There were two areas where this product fell short. First of all, my chest and back were not fans of the formula. I noticed some acne popping up on both areas after using Body Hero and decided it was far too rich for anywhere breakout prone. I’ve gotten a lot better about moisturizing top to tail in the past year, so this was a dealbreaker.
I had to give a second demerit for how my skin felt by the end of the day. Yes, it looked and felt hydrated once I applied it post-shower, but by the end of the days my skin (my legs in particular) felt itchy and dry. Shaving wasn’t a factor because let’s be real, ain’t no married lady shaving a lot in the winter. Sorry not sorry. Between battling the weather on my walk to work, countless layers of clothing and living in an old apartment that we filled with dry heat all season, I need a moisturizer that will keep me comfortable all day.
I’ll never break up with Glossier, but when it comes to a body lotion, I’ve yet to find something that tops my all-time favorite, Prtty Peaushun.
See what else I’ve used up here.
